How to Add a Shared Mailbox in New Outlook (Windows Desktop)

1. Open New Outlook

Make sure they are using the New Outlook toggle (upper‑right corner).

2. Click the Profile Icon

Top‑right corner → shows their account initials or picture.

3. Select “View Account Settings”

This opens the account management panel.

4. Under “Email Accounts,” choose the primary work account

They must select the account that has permissions to the shared mailbox.

5. Click “Manage Shared Mailboxes”

This is the New Outlook equivalent of “Account Settings” in Classic Outlook.

6. Click “Add Shared Mailbox”

A small window will appear.

7. Enter the shared mailbox address:

Example “Address@domain.com” 

8. Click “Add”

New Outlook will automatically add the mailbox to the left‑hand folder pane.

9. Restart Outlook if the mailbox doesn’t appear

New Outlook sometimes needs a refresh to sync shared mailboxes.
